*Minority Caucus Condemns Persecution, Calls for Protection of Dissenting Voices* The Minority Caucus has expressed grave concern over the arrest and remand of Mr. Kwame Baffoe, Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), on charges of "offensive conduct conducive to a breach of the peace." The Caucus sees this as part of a broader pattern of suppressing dissent and harassing journalists, social commentators, and opposition figures through arbitrary arrests and detentions. In a statement signed by the Minority Second Deputy Whip, Mr Jerry Ahmed Shaib stated that, the Caucus believes that the government's actions are aimed at silencing voices of dissent and accountability. He highlighted that the government's neglect of urgent national crises, such as the communal violence in northern Ghana, which has claimed lives and displaced thousands.
