Asantehene Otumfuo Prempeh II's visitation to Accra, the capital of the then Gold Coast by the invitation of the Gold Coast Governor, Sir Alan Burns to Accra as the Special Guest of Honour at the inaugural ceremony of the Burns Constitution in 1946.

A durbar was held by the then Ga-Mantse, leader of the Ga State to welcome the Asantehene who had journeyed all the way from his country, Ashanti to the Gold Coast capital of Accra.

Otumfuo Prempeh II also took the opportunity to take a first-hand look at Achimota School where he planted a tree in memory of His visit to the school.

A grand durbar was held to welcome the Asante King.

In the commemoration of this historic event, this tree was planted as a sign of solidarity between Achimota School and the Asante Nation.

78 years down the line, the 16th Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is repeating history by visiting the Ga-stare tomorrow.
