PREZ NANA ADDO MUST CALL FOR NATIONAL DIALOGUE OVER ECONOMY- JOHN JINAPOR
The minority member for Yapei Kusawgu constituency in the Savannah Region Mr John Jinapor has called on H.E. President Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo as a matter of urgency call for national dialogue on the state of Ghana's economy.
Addressing the parliamentary press corps on Tuesday, 2nd July 2024, Mr. Jinapor stated that is high time the President and his Vice swallow their pride and engage in national dialogue to bring out possible solutions to resolve Ghana's current problems.
He explained that the current minimum range of the ordinary Ghanaian can not buy a bag of rice.
The ranking member on Mines Energy committee also revealed since the exit of the finance minister Mr Ken Ofori-Atta,the cedi continues to depreciate and that clearly indicates how awful the economic management team lead by the vice president is performing.
He further mentioned Ghana's problem goes beyond the former minister, and he is therefore convinced that Ghana's problem is a systematic challenge.
According to John Jinapor the next government will inherit a broken economy.
The former minister of Energy said this government has failed to use the one million dollars out of the three million Euro bond secured to restructure IPPL liabilities.
"Anytime the NPP tells you they are restructuring or renegotiating any energy sector contract, it ends up being bloated,it ends up costing serious liability." He lamented.
