POST BUDGET WORKSHOP: MINISTER CALLS FOR SUPPORT. The finance minister, Mr Cassiel Ato Baah Forson has called on members to support him as they have done to other finance ministers. Speaking at a three days post budget workshop held in parliament today 15th March 2025, he outlined the major policies and measures to bring out good living conditions to Ghanaians. Also the clerk to parliament, Mr Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror encouraged members to participate to enable them to ask tough questions and challenge assumptions to ensure that the 2025 budget policy truly reflects the people's needs and welfare. He showed confidence that their deliberation will ensure a great scrutiny which will result in accountability and good governance. POST BUDGET WORKSHOP:  MINISTER CALLS FOR SUPPORT.

 

The finance minister, Mr Cassiel Ato Baah Forson has called on members to support him as they have done to other finance ministers. 

 

Speaking at a three days  post budget workshop held in parliament today 15th March 2025, he outlined the major policies and measures to  bring out good living conditions to Ghanaians.

 

Also the  clerk to parliament, Mr Ebenezer Ahumah  Djietror encouraged members to participate to enable them to ask tough questions and challenge assumptions to ensure that the 2025 budget policy truly reflects the people's needs and welfare.

 

He showed confidence that their deliberation will ensure a great scrutiny which will result in accountability and good governance.

 

The Majority Leader, Mr Mahama Ayariga revealed that the idea behind this workshop is to help members understand the estimate and figures in the budget to enable them educate the ordinary Ghanaian. 

 

He added that, experts are made available from the various fields to help them understand the policy documents.

 

He called on the minority to be very critical and expose  the lapses and weakness in the document to help them make the best of the document before approving them. 

 

The Bawku MP thanked the speaker of Parliament, the clerk and members for  organizing  this post budget workshop.

 

The Minority leader Mr Alexander Kwamena Afenyo Markin giving his open address told members to take this opportunity and build their capacity. 

 

He said they can make a meaningful debate and impact only if they put all effort to learn and understand. 

 

He urged all of them to participate and spend time and learn to enable them to build their confidence and capacity. 

 

 He explained that, they   will improve their analytical skills and make easy  detection of over sight functions in the budget.
