Mr Owusu Ntim emphasized that, the assembly will try to have an untouchable development levy account which will generate money from the mining companies in the district. The funds collected will therefore be used to build affordable apartments and accommodations for these government workers.

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Atiwa East, Mr. Ernest Owusu Ntim, emphasizes that a local-based approach is the best way to combat illegal mining (galamsey) in Ghana.
