SPEAKER BAGBIN LAUDS SCHOLARSHIP INITIATIVE FOR TRANSFORMING LIVES The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin, has expressed his heartfelt appreciation for scholarship initiatives in the country. Speaking to the media in Parliament, Speaker Bagbin stated that he is deeply grateful for the impact of these initiatives on his own life. He recounted his experiences as a young Minority Leader in 2001, when he faced numerous challenges. According to Speaker Bagbin, the proximity of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) to Parliament presented an opportunity for collaboration. He led efforts to establish a scholarship program with GIMPA, enabling members of Parliament to pursue a Master's degree in Governance and Leadership. Although not all participants completed the program, many successfully earned their degrees, which has had a lasting impact on their careers. SPEAKER BAGBIN LAUDS SCHOLARSHIP INITIATIVE FOR TRANSFORMING LIVES

The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin, has expressed his heartfelt appreciation for scholarship initiatives in the country. Speaking to the media in Parliament, Speaker Bagbin stated that he is deeply grateful for the impact of these initiatives on his own life. He recounted his experiences as a young Minority Leader in 2001, when he faced numerous challenges.

According to Speaker Bagbin, the proximity of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) to Parliament presented an opportunity for collaboration. He led efforts to establish a scholarship program with GIMPA, enabling members of Parliament to pursue a Master's degree in Governance and Leadership. Although not all participants completed the program, many successfully earned their degrees, which has had a lasting impact on their careers.

Speaker Bagbin emphasized that the scholarship program has been instrumental in developing the skills and knowledge of Parliamentarian since 2001. He noted that several members who completed the Governance and Leadership course have made valuable contributions to the work of Parliament.

GHANA'S MINORITY CAUCUS RAISES CONCERNS OVER US DEPORTEES AGREEMENT. Ghana's Minority Caucus in Parliament has expressed strong concerns over the country's agreement with the United States to accept third-country nationals deported from the US. The Minority Caucus reiterates its call for the government to suspend the agreement's implementation until parliamentary ratification is obtained. Speaking to the media, the Ranking member for the Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Mr Samuel Abu Jinapor highlighted that the agreement breaches Article 75 of Ghana's Constitution. Addressing the media, he stated that, looking at the cost of rent in these areas, workers use more than 30% of their salaries on rent. He explained that, this has led the departures of nurses, doctors, teachers and other government workers. Mr Owusu Ntim emphasized that, the assembly will try to have an untouchable development levy account which will generate money from the mining companies in the district. The funds collected will therefore be used to build affordable apartments and accommodations for these government workers.

FIGHT AGAINST GALAMSEY : Local-Based Approach the Best Solution.
