Radio Stations Shut Down for Lack of Authorization The Minister of Communications and Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram, Hon. Sam George, has informed Parliament about the closure of some FM radio stations by the National Communications Authority (NCA). According to Hon. Sam George, the NCA directed the shutdown on February 18, 2025, due to the stations' failure to obtain the required authorization as mandated by Section 24 of the Electronic Communications Act 2008 (Act 775). The affected stations were given opportunities to renew their authorizations prior to the enforcement action but failed to do so. However, in a separate case, the authorization for Woman and Sons Limited, a commercial radio station operating at Bawku on 104.9 FM, was suspended due to national security concerns, as advised by the Minister for the Interior.
