*MINORITY CAUTIONS EC OVER DECISION TO RE- RUN ABLEKUMA NORTH ELECTIONS.* The Minority Leader, Osahen Alexander Kwamena Afenyo Markin has cautioned the Electoral Commission over their decision to re-run the Ablekuma North constituency election in some polling stations. Commenting on the business statement for the week, Mr Afenyo Markin asked the EC, what changed to have a turn on their decision because they were on course to declare the Ablekuma North elections. He humbly asked the majority Leader to program the EC before the house to brief them on reasons why they changed their course. The Effutu lawmaker also raised the alarming increment of electricity tariffs almost 17% within six months when the NDC took over. *MINORITY CAUTIONS EC OVER DECISION TO RE- RUN ABLEKUMA NORTH ELECTIONS.* 

 

 

The Minority Leader,  Osahen Alexander Kwamena Afenyo Markin has cautioned the Electoral Commission over their decision to re-run the Ablekuma North constituency election in some polling stations.

 

Commenting on the business statement for  the week, Mr Afenyo Markin asked the EC, what changed to have a turn on their decision because they were on course to declare the Ablekuma North elections. 

 

He humbly asked the majority Leader to program the EC before the house to brief them on reasons why they changed their course. 

 

The Effutu lawmaker also raised the alarming increment of electricity tariffs almost 17% within six months when the NDC took over.

He called on the speaker to summon the energy minister Mr John Jinapor to explain their  reforms that led to the 17%  increase. 

 

Osahen Alexander Afenyo Markin again called on the Minister for lands and natural resources Mr Emmanuel Kofi Armah Buah to come and brief the house on the  ministerial policy in fighting galamsey as it was their major campaign promise to Ghanaians. 

 

He said the Ghana water company cannot guarantee Ghanaians of portable water due to galamsey. 

 

He further condemned the act at which  some government institutions are dismissing workers who were recruited in some government institutions before the 2024 elections.

 

He cautioned that, it is not good for Ghana's democracy. 

 

" We can't continue to let this happen to our country" he lamented. 

 

The MP for Effutu  again condemned the new demand condition bail from EOCO.

  

He Afenyo Markin emphasized that, they the minority are not against accountability and transparency.

 

He revealed that, the former CEO of Buffer stock company Mr Abdul Wahab Hannan and the wife were arrested on  June 25 by EOCO and because it is an investigative issue, EOCO asks  for a bail of 50,000 worth of property. 

 

He mentioned some popular political heads in the NPP who have been victims of  it. 

 

 

He asked, can't they as a political class for once  stop this irrespective of which political party one belongs
