The Member of Parliament for Tempane, Hon. Lydia Lamisi Akanvariba, has addressed the media regarding the recent security situation in Bawku.

 

According to Hon. Akanvariba, on July 13th, unknown assailants attacked a military vehicle, prompting an angry response from soldiers who subsequently beat about six people in the town, including school children.

 

Six Kusasi residents were also victims of the incident, with several others injured.

 

Expressing her constituents' unhappiness and anger over the treatment they received, Hon. Akanvariba called the press conference to provide more details about the incident.

However, Hon. Lydia Lamisi Akanvariba also urged her constituents in Bawku to exercise patience, assuring them that the leadership is committed to their well-being and will not abandon them.

 

She stated that measures are being put in place to restore peace and order in the community.

She pleaded with the Asantehene to act swiftly to help maintain peace and order, allowing the people to live freely without fear.
