*Be Vigilant*

_By Archbishop Charles Agyinasare_

_Day 209 (28/07/2025)_

> _1 Peter 5:8 ”Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.”_

The main contender of our faith—Satan—is very crafty. The devil mostly approaches with words and thoughts with the intent to deceive. The tragedy of man’s fall from glory all began when Eve was deceived by the devil.

The Bible describes the devil as one who comes as a wolf in sheep’s clothing and as one appearing as an angel of light. Jesus also calls him the father of all lies. We must, therefore, be careful and wise to know his crafty devices in order to resist him.

Here are three reasons why we must be careful of the Devil’s craftiness:

*1. You can lose your destiny*

Matthew 4:8-9 "Again, the Devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me."

Like Adam and Eve, Jesus—who was sent to redeem us from Satan—also faced the craftiness of the devil, but He overcame it to fulfil his destiny of obtaining redemption for us. In Christ, we too can stand against the wiles of the devil.

*2. He can speak falsely through a false prophet to you.*

2 Chronicles 18:20-21"Then there came out a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said, I will entice him. And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go out, and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets…"

When people depart from the Word of God, seeking out prophets with itching ears, they expose themselves to false prophecies and lying spirits. Many such people end up losing their families, businesses or even their lives.

*3. The Devil can make you walk in craftiness*

2 Corinthians 4:2 "But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully
