Minority Caucus Slams NIB Over 'Abusive' Treatment of Kofi Ofosu Nkansah

The Minority Caucus has condemned the National Investigations Bureau (NIB) for its handling of Kofi Ofosu Nkansah's case, citing "unacceptable conduct" and "abuse of power". Nkansah, a radio personality, was invited by the NIB for questioning over allegations made on Sompa Radio 106.5, but was subjected to a search at his home by armed agents and detained.

In a statement by caucus signed by the Member of parliament for Nsawam-Adoakyir, Mr Frank Annoh Dompreh alleges the actions are politically motivated, aimed at silencing critics of the government. They demand Nkansah's immediate release, citing infringement of his rights and excessive use of force. "This is totally unacceptable in the pursuit of justice," the statement reads.

The Minority Caucus also criticized the government for diverting attention from pressing issues like unpaid cocoa farmers, unemployment, and rising living costs.

They urge the government to focus on addressing these challenges rather than targeting critics.
