*Hon. James Enu Backs LGBTQ Bill After Committee Review, Calls for Amendments* Hon. James Enu, Member of Parliament for Tema West and Vice Chairperson of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Constitutional and Legal Affairs, has commented on the passage of the LGBTQ Bill, outlining the committee’s review process and the need for amendments to certain provisions. According to Hon. Enu, the bill was referred to the Constitutional and Legal Affairs Committee for detailed scrutiny. As part of its mandate, the committee held engagements with a wide range of stakeholders to gather views and expert input. *Hon. James Enu Backs LGBTQ Bill After Committee Review, Calls for Amendments*

Hon. James Enu, Member of Parliament for Tema West and Vice Chairperson of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Constitutional and Legal Affairs, has commented on the passage of the LGBTQ Bill, outlining the committee’s review process and the need for amendments to certain provisions.

According to Hon. Enu, the bill was referred to the Constitutional and Legal Affairs Committee for detailed scrutiny. As part of its mandate, the committee held engagements with a wide range of stakeholders to gather views and expert input. Those consulted included traditional leaders, Christian and Muslim religious leaders, the Ghana AIDS Commission, and the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ).

“The committee considered the contributions of all stakeholders in our deliberations,” Hon. Enu stated. He explained that after examining the provisions of the bill, the committee identified areas that required amendment to strengthen the legislation and address concerns raised during consultations.
