Interior Minister: Flood Disaster Displaces Over 38,800 People Across Greater Accra; 12 Dead, 7 Missing The Minister for the Interior, Hon Mubarak Muntaka has informed Parliament that recent flooding across the Greater Accra Region has displaced 38,802 people from 7,761 households, while 12 people have lost their lives and seven others remain missing. Presenting an update to Parliament, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak said the floods have had a devastating impact on several communities, with Korle Klottey recording the highest number of displaced persons at 6,500 individuals from 1,300 households. Other severely affected areas include Tema Metropolitan Assembly, where 3,601 people from 721 households were displaced; Tema West, with 3,450 people from 690 households; Okaikwei North, with 2,620 people from 524 households; Weija Gbawe, with 2,500 people from 500 households; and Ablekuma South, where 2,300 residents from 460 households were forced to flee their homes.
