Nearly One Million Ghanaians Lifted Out of Poverty as Inflation Falls to 5.3%, Finance Minister Reports The Minister for Finance, Hon. Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has announced that nearly one million Ghanaians have been lifted out of multidimensional poverty as the country's economy continues to show signs of recovery and stabilization. Presenting the 2026 Mid-Year Budget Review in Parliament, the Finance Minister disclosed that approximately 950,000 Ghanaians moved out of multidimensional poverty over the past 12 months, reflecting improvements in living standards and economic opportunities across the country. Dr. Forson also highlighted Ghana's progress in reducing inflation, noting that the rate fell sharply from 23.8% in December 2024 to 5.4% by the end of 2025, before easing further to 5.3% in June 2026, indicating sustained price stability.
