USE DIGITALISATION TO EASE TRAFFIC CONGESTION AT THE AIRPORT- SAM GEORGE TELLS AIRPORT AUTHORITY

The ranking member on the  Committee on communication, Mr Samuel Nartey George, has advised airport authorities to rely on digitalisation to ease the traffic congestion at the airport.

Speaking to the managing director for airport  Mrs Yvonne Nana Afriyie, who appeared before the public accounts committee to answer some questions,  the Ningo-Prampram member of parliament suggested that there should be a short code for drivers who are going to park their cars.

Explaining his concerns, he indicated that the code will make it easier for drivers to just scan their payment within the possible shortest time.

"The problem is access to the terminal. The traffic from the marina mall, that is where the backlog begins. Maybe a suggestion I will make to you is  for proper digitalisation."

Mr Nartey- George further revealed that passengers mostly miss their flight because they miss their check-in time.

Also, the majority member in parliament for Mpraeso, Mr Davis Ansah Opoku, was of the view that some international airlines should start  operating from terminal two to enable free flow of the traffic situation.

However, the managing director, Mrs Yvonne Nana Afriyie, assured the committee that their concerns are well noted and will be taken into consideration and implementation.
