HARUNA PETITIONS SPEAKER TO DECLARE FOUR SEATS  VACANT 

The MP for Tamale South and Former Minority Leader,Haruna Iddrisu has petitioned the Rt. Hon. Speaker relying on order 93 as well as anchoring his application on order 18 to declare 3 seats of majority MPs standing as independent candidates.

The seats includes Agona West Suhum,Amenfi Central and Fomena 

At a media encounter held with members of the parliamentary press corps,majority  leader,Alexander Afenyo Markin confirmed that yes indeed,he’s received a copy of the memo.

However the majority leader disclosed that he has not been served by these Honorable Members as the head of  the caucus of their intention to exist.

Hence in his capacity as the caucus  leader,he has filed a writ and parliament has been duly served of which there is an injunction also attached to the writ.

The matter he therefore noted will be placed on iced until the Supreme Court determines the matter.

However, after members of parliament have commented on the matter at  the plenary, the Rt Hon Speaker Alban Sumana Bagbin pleaded with members to give him time to submit a reasoned ruling on the matter.

He added that the issue is a matter of serious national issue. 

"I need to present to you a very thought out ruling" he lamented.
