MAJORITY ACCUSES SOME NDC KEY ELEMENTS IN LEADERSHIP FOR ELECTION MAYHEM.
The majority in parliament today, 4th January 2025 has accused the former Minister for National Security, Mr Kofi Totobi Quakyi and former National Security coordinator, Col Larry Gbevlo- Lartey for orchestrating post-election violence involving alleged thug from the NDC.
Addressing the press, the deputy majority leader, Madam Patricia Appiagyei mentioned that per some intelligence they have gathered, the Damongo and other constituencies including the MP for Ablekuma West, Mrs Ursula Owusu Ekuful post election violence were from these key leaders in the NDC party.
The MP for Asokwa called on Ghanaians to be vigilant and report any violence to the security agencies.
"Violence should never be part of our political discourse."
She called on the NDC to focus on their governance and leave the NPP alone.
She urged the president Elect to direct his focus towards the policies he intends to implement in the interest of national progress.
She added that the NPP government remains committed to peace, dialogue and the strengthening of Ghana's democratic institutions.
Madam Patricia Appiagyei assured that her government has put in place measures to ensure smooth transition.
