*ABOSSEY OKAI SPARE PARTS DEALERS ASSOCIATION TO ENFORCE GIPC ACT* The Abossey Okai Spare Parts Dealers Association announces its commitment to upholding the law and protecting local enterprise from unlawful competition. As of Monday, September 8, 2025, the Association will embark on an exercise to ensure strict compliance with the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) Act, 2013 (Act 865), specifically Section 27(1). According to their press statement, the Act prohibits non-citizens or enterprises not wholly owned by Ghanaians from engaging in retail trading, hawking, or selling goods in stalls or markets. Despite the law, foreigners continue to dominate petty trading in commercial hubs like Abossey Okai, undermining local entrepreneurship and affecting the livelihoods of Association members.
