Minority MPs Demand Sam George's Resignation Over DStv Impasse. The Minority Caucus in Parliament has called for the resignation of Minister for Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovations, Mr Sam George, over his handling of the ongoing DStv impasse. According to the member of parliament for Abirem and also the Deputy Ranking on Information and communication committee Mr Charles Asuako Owiredu , Sam George's actions demonstrate "ineptitude, incompetence, and a penchant for deceit" in his negotiations with MultiChoice Ghana. Background of the Impasse The controversy began in August 2025 when Sam George demanded a 30% reduction in DStv subscription fees, citing significant price disparities between Ghana and other African countries. MultiChoice labelled the demand "untenable," warning of potential job losses and reduced service options.
