Afenyo-Markin Drags Sammy Gyamfi, Multimedia and Peace FM to Court Over Extortion Claims; Dares Accusers to Report to Police, OSP Minority Leader and MP for Effutu, Osahen Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has filed two separate defamation suits to clear his name over allegations that he extorted money. Addressing Parliament during its emergency recall on Monday, August 24, 2026, Afenyo-Markin said he decided to take the high moral ground and subject himself to due process. According to him, he has filed Suit No. GT 1029/2026 - Osahen Alexander Afenyo-Markin vrs Samuel Gyamfi and Multimedia Group Limited at the High Court, and Suit No. GR/ACH/CC/C5/02/2026 - Osahen Alexander Afenyo-Markin vrs Eric Agyei and Peace FM at the Circuit Court. Afenyo-Markin Drags Sammy Gyamfi, Multimedia and Peace FM to Court Over Extortion Claims; Dares Accusers to Report to Police, OSP

Minority Leader and MP for Effutu, Osahen Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has filed two separate defamation suits to clear his name over allegations that he extorted money.

Addressing Parliament during its emergency recall on Monday, August 24, 2026, Afenyo-Markin said he decided to take the high moral ground and subject himself to due process.

According to him, he has filed Suit No. GT 1029/2026 - Osahen Alexander Afenyo-Markin vrs Samuel Gyamfi and Multimedia Group Limited at the High Court, and Suit No. GR/ACH/CC/C5/02/2026 - Osahen Alexander Afenyo-Markin vrs Eric Agyei and Peace FM at the Circuit Court.

He said he is confident the courts will vindicate him.

"I have every confidence that in the fullness of time the court will make the appropriate determination on these matters," he told the House.

The Minority Leader further dared his accusers to take their claims to the law enforcement agencies if they have any evidence against him.

"Mr. Speaker, I also await with bated breath that the man or the men who made the allegation will have the courage to report the matter to the Police or the OSP or any investigating agency in this country and I expect that if they master the courage to report that I have extorted from them and I am invited, I shall submit myself to every investigation so that eventually my name is cleared," he stated.
