*World Cup Visa Scandal Must Not End With One Dismissal - Minority Calls For Sacking Of Sports Minister And GTA CEO*

The Minority in Parliament has insisted that the World Cup visa scandal cannot end with the dismissal of one official, following President John Dramani Mahama's removal of the Director General of the National Sports Authority.

Addressing the press at Parliament House, the Ranking Member on the Youth and Sports Committee, Hon. Vincent Ekow Assafuah, said while the Minority acknowledges the President's decision, it does not answer all the questions arising from the documentary trail.

"This cannot end with one dismissal. The President has removed [the NSA DG] we acknowledge that decision but the public should not be made to believe that the removal of one official automatically answers every question arising from the document," he stated.

Minority Demands Dismissal Of Sports Minister And GTA Boss

The Minority is therefore demanding the immediate dismissal of the Minister for Sports and Recreation and the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority.

"We therefore call for the immediate dismissal of Honourable Kofi Adams, the Minister for Sports and Recreation and the immediate dismissal of the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority," Hon. Assafuah declared.

"Their continued stay in office in the face of the questions surrounding the roles of their respective institutions cannot be allowed to undermine public confidence in the investigation," he stressed.

The Minority says it wants a full, independent and transparent investigation into the entire visa facilitation arrangement, including the roles of the Ministry, GTA, NSA, Tribe Culture Fest and all individuals linked to the collection of monies and preparation of lists.
