MINORITY CALLS ON PREZ TO INVESTIGATE SAMMY GYAMFI DOLLAR GIFT, AS THEY PETITION STATE INSTITUTIONS.

Minority in Ghana's parliament has petitioned three key state investigative bodies, the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service and the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP)  to investigate the Acting  Chief Executive officer of the Ghana Gold bod, Sammy Gyamfi over his gifting of an undisclosed amount of dollars to controversial ex-fetish priestess, Evangelist Nana Agradaa.

The petitions were presented by the first deputy Minority Whip and the member for Tolon, Habib Iddrisu, the MP for Nalerigu/ Gambagaa, Mumuni Mohammed Nurudeen and the Deputy General Secretary of the NPP, Haruna Mohamed.

Addressing the press, the MP for Nalerigu/ Gambagaa, Mumuni Mohammed Nurudeen outlined the grounds for their petition.

He stated that, his act is a breach of the code of conduct for public appointees, violation of the Foreign Exchange Act 2006 ( Act 723), Violation of the currency Act 1964( 242), possible misappropriation or Abuse of Public resources, Failure of leadership and institutional oversight and potential tax evasion (by beneficiary).

Mr Nurudeen added that, findings of these investigative bodies will enable proper clearance if he's not found guilty of any offense.

Meanwhile, President John Dramani Mahama on Wednesday, 14 May,2025 through his spokesperson, Felix Kwakye Ofosu declared no further disciplinary action against Mr Gyamfi follows his public apology.

He compared the incidence of former Sanitation Minister Madam Cecilia Dapaah and Victoria Hammer in an alleged dollar in their possession which was not physically seen but were dismissed from their positions.

"We want the law to work so that tomorrow if the law says giving out dollars is not a crime, we can also give it out  to someone in public but  If the law says it is a crime,it will serve as a lesson."
