NURSES STRIKE TALKS YIELD PROGRESS - HEALTH COMMITTEE The Member of Parliament for Nabdam also the chairman for the Health committee, Hon. Nawaane Kurt Mark, addressed the media on the outcome of a meeting between the parliamentary select committee and stakeholders to discuss the ongoing strike by the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association. The meeting, attended by the Ministry of Health, Nurses Association, Ministry of Finance, and Fair Wages Commission, resulted in the nurses narrowing down their demands to four key issues: 1. 8% increase in basic allowance for all nurses 2. Fuel allowance for approximately 5,300 nurses in specific categories 3. Uniform allowance increase from GHC 400 to GHC 1000 4. Research and book allowance for around 900 nurses in certain categories The Ministry of Finance requested time to study the demands and conduct an economic and financial impact analysis, with a report expected within two weeks.
