GOV’T IS NOT CONSISTENT IN LITHIUM MINING DEAL-MINORITY Minority Caucus of Parliament has stated that, the government is not consistent in lithium mining deals. Speaking to the media at the Parliament House, the minority caucus urges government to be transparent and serious in the lithium mining deal with a private company Barari DV Ghana Limited. According to the Minority, Barari Company was ever ready to do business with Ghana when the prices of Lithium has dropped with 10 percent to Ghanaians but the government did not agree to it but now they wants to bring a new Legislative Instrument (LI) for another deal. This is not the right thing to do and it’s lacks consistency. GOV’T IS NOT CONSISTENT IN LITHIUM MINING DEAL-MINORITY 

 

Minority Caucus of Parliament has stated that, the government is not consistent in    lithium mining deals. 

 

Speaking to the media at the Parliament House, the minority caucus urges government to be transparent and serious in the lithium mining deal with a private company Barari DV Ghana Limited.

 

According to the Minority, Barari Company was ever ready to do business with Ghana when the prices of Lithium has dropped with 10 percent to Ghanaians but the government did not agree to it but now they wants to bring a new Legislative Instrument (LI) for another deal. This is not the right thing to do and it’s lacks consistency. 

 

Speaking to the media, a ranking member of Lands and Natural Resources and Member of Parliament(MP)  for Manhyia North, Akwasi Konadu said the deal was first brought to Parliament in 2024 at that time the prices of lithium on international market were 800 dollars per tone but NPP government negotiated the deal with 10 percent why is the NDC lying now to Ghanaians . 

 

 

He urged the government to work hard to bring the Galamsey menace under control since it is getting worse under John Mahama’s administration.
