Former Deputy Finance Minister and Member of Parliament, Hon. Dr. Stephen Amoah, has called for the integration of entrepreneurship education into the senior high school (SHS) curriculum. 

 

He made the appeal during a statement on the floor of Parliament, emphasizing the need to equip young Ghanaians with practical business skills.

 

Dr. Amoah noted that Ghana’s current entrepreneurial ecosystem lacks the structural and functional capacity to drive job creation. 

 

He argued that introducing entrepreneurship at the SHS level would empower students to become self-reliant and contribute meaningfully to the economy.

 

Nhyiaeso Lawmaker Dr Stephen Amoah further proposed redefining the country’s corporate focus and increasing government support to strengthen entrepreneurial development. 

 

According to him, aligning key stakeholders is crucial to making this vision a reality.

 

The Education Minister has expressed support for the initiative, indicating a possible move toward policy adoption.

 

 If implemented, the program is expected to address youth unemployment and boost economic growth nationwide.
