*"Ghanaian Students Abroad in Crisis: Minority Calls for Urgent Government Intervention"*

The minority on the select committee on education have expressed great concerns over disturbing reports of Ghanaian government sponsored students facing imminent eviction from the United Kingdom and United States.

Speaking to the press, the minority are calling on the government to immediately intervene to address the financial crisis facing these Ghanaian scholarship beneficiaries abroad.

Mr Fred Kyei Asamoah, a member of the education committee revealed that, about 180 Ghanaian students in Memphis and Tennessee are on the verge of being ejected from their university housing and also being stripped off their student visa status.

He added that, their emerging report indicates same situation for students in the United Kingdom and Eastern Europe facing same threats.

The Offinso North MP urged the government of Ghana through the office of the president, the education ministry and the Ghana scholarship Secretariat to immediately initiate payment plans and restored open communication channels with affected institutions.

He again asked for the release of funds to regularize the status of Ghanaian scholarship beneficiaries abroad.

"Let us not allow silence, delay or political indifference to define this moment"

He said they should rise above partisan to protect  their  collective future as a nation, bearing in mind that, despite the challenges and overwhelming debt inherited by the past government in 201, no Ghanaian student studying abroad was deported or deregistered for non payment of scholarship

Recommitments.
