SPEAKER'S AD HOC COMMITTEE TO COMMERCE WORK ON 5TH FEBRUARY.

The AD HOC committee created by the Speaker of parliament, RT Hon Alban Sumana Bagbin to investigate the chaos which took place on the appointment on 30th January will commence its inquiry on Wednesday,5 February 2025.

Addressing the press, the chairman for the committee, Mr Emmanuel Bedzrah announced that they will provide an opportunity for public hearing.

He added that the committee will solicit the services of the forensic expert from the Ghana Police Service to assist with authentication, analysis and validation of all multimedia evidence that would be received from witnesses.

He said the committee has created a digital platform where they will receive all multimedia evidence including videos, texts and audios.

He urged the general public to forward all reliable evidence and information to the clerk on special contact 0244926911.

The committee placed on record that it is not part of its job to target or witch hunt anyone.

They appealed to all sandry to volunteer information that will help bring lasting peace and collaboration.

Bernard Ahiafor has been nominated as the president of Democracy and Human Rights Committee for the African Geopolitical Group of the Interparliamentary Union (IPU).He achieved this feat at the ongoing 150th Assembly of the IPU which is taking place in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from 5-9 April 2025. PRU EAST MP CALLS FOR URGENT ACTION ON WATER CRISIS. The Member of Parliament for Pru East Constituency in the Bono East Region, Emmanuel Kwaku Boam, has raised concerns over the acute water shortage affecting his constituency. He has called on the government to implement urgent measures to address the situation. Speaking to the press in Parliament, Boam highlighted the severe impact of the crisis on residents of Yeji and its surrounding communities. He revealed that the lack of access to clean drinking water has led to a surge in waterborne diseases, with over 187 people, including children under the age of two, contracting cholera and typhoid.
