OUR ECONOMY WILL CRASH IF WOMEN STOP WORKING. The former minister of defence, Mr Dominic Bingad Nitiwul has said that, the Ghanaian economy will collapse if women stop working. Contributing on the floor of parliament on a statement made by the Majority Deputy Whip Madam Comfort Doyoe on international women's day, Mr Nitiwul revealed that, about sixty percent of Ghanaian women owe small businesses. He explained that most women in the rural areas are burdened with a lot of tedious work without the support of the men. He said there are a lot of men in our society who do not understand the role of women in our society. The MP for Bimbilla questioned whether they are giving women enough advantages to excel in leadership roles. He assured the house that, as chairman for the assurance committee, he will make sure there is effective implementation of the affirmative action (gender equality) bill Act 2024.
