*Nzema East MUSEC Cracks Down on Illegal Miners, Arrests 20 in Operations* The Nzema East Municipal Security Council Taskforce, led by Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Herbert Kuah Dickson, has arrested 20 illegal miners in a joint operation with the Axim Divisional Command of the Ghana Police Service, National Investigation Bureau (NIB), and the Blue Water Guard team. The operation targeted illegal mining sites in Akango, Abelebo, and Duale, along the River Ankobra, where the taskforce seized six control boards of excavators, 35 chamfan machines, and drege boats. The equipment was destroyed to prevent further illegal mining activities. Hon. Kuah Dickson warned individuals and groups involved in illegal mining to desist, emphasizing the assembly's commitment to protecting water bodies and forest areas from pollution and destruction.
