*MINORITY CAUTIONS EC OVER DECISION TO RE- RUN ABLEKUMA NORTH ELECTIONS.* The Minority Leader, Osahen Alexander Kwamena Afenyo Markin has cautioned the Electoral Commission over their decision to re-run the Ablekuma North constituency election in some polling stations. Commenting on the business statement for the week, Mr Afenyo Markin asked the EC, what changed to have a turn on their decision because they were on course to declare the Ablekuma North elections. He humbly asked the majority Leader to program the EC before the house to brief them on reasons why they changed their course. The Effutu lawmaker also raised the alarming increment of electricity tariffs almost 17% within six months when the NDC took over. "Just six months into power, you have increased electricity tariffs to 17%? Radio Stations Shut Down for Lack of Authorization The Minister of Communications and Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram, Hon. Sam George, has informed Parliament about the closure of some FM radio stations by the National Communications Authority (NCA). According to Hon. Sam George, the NCA directed the shutdown on February 18, 2025, due to the stations' failure to obtain the required authorization as mandated by Section 24 of the Electronic Communications Act 2008 (Act 775). The affected stations were given opportunities to renew their authorizations prior to the enforcement action but failed to do so. However, in a separate case, the authorization for Woman and Sons Limited, a commercial radio station operating at Bawku on 104.9 FM, was suspended due to national security concerns, as advised by the Minister for the Interior.

NURSES STRIKE TALKS YIELD PROGRESS - HEALTH COMMITTEE The Member of Parliament for Nabdam also the chairman for the Health committee, Hon. Nawaane Kurt Mark, addressed the media on the outcome of a meeting between the parliamentary select committee and stakeholders to discuss the ongoing strike by the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association. The meeting, attended by the Ministry of Health, Nurses Association, Ministry of Finance, and Fair Wages Commission, resulted in the nurses narrowing down their demands to four key issues: 1. 8% increase in basic allowance for all nurses 2. Fuel allowance for approximately 5,300 nurses in specific categories 3. Uniform allowance increase from GHC 400 to GHC 1000 4.
